2020 has greatly changed the appearance of the Academy of aviation. In order keep an eye on all the details, we visited the territory, academic buildings and hostels of BSAA together with chief engineer Eugene Duben’.

Belarusian State Academy of Aviation pays much attention to the improvement of the academy's territory, classrooms, laboratories and the living conditions of the cadets in the hostels. The results of the repair work have already been assessed by the teachers who teach in the new classrooms and laboratories, by the cadets who live in the hostel after the overhaul and current repairs, and by people who pass by the Academy's main educational building on Uborevicha street.

The main building is the face of the educational establishment. Now you can see a beautiful front staircase and a neat porch from Uborevicha street. The canopy is illuminated, so the emblem and name of the establishment are visible even in the evening. The facade of the building itself is also illuminated. Projectors are aimed at the columns, and linear lighting is directed at the roof contour.

But that is not all: the alley at the entrance road to the checkpoint is also lit now. There are lights that turn on automatically when it's dusk outside. Thus, the comfort is provided for the cadets and staff during nighttime.

New Year's mood was created by the New Year's illumination that was installed on the roof outline of the checkpoint building. It was made in the form of melting icicles. The entrance gate that leads to the territory of the Academy also was renewed: it became automatic. In addition, the gate itself is decorated with a double-sided emblem of the Academy cast in metal, which is visible both from the Academy and the entrance to the checkpoint. Inside the building the lobby and corridor have been renovated so that when you enter the checkpoint, everything around you appears bright, clean and renewed.

Enter at the Academy territory and see a small courtyard not far from the main building: the benches standing in a circle create the atmosphere of a quiet park, where you can relax and gain strength.

After a rest we move on to the academic buildings. In the third building the classrooms on the third floor were renovated and new, modern laboratory equipment was installed.

The classrooms and common areas have also been repaired in the military faculty. Undoubtedly, good material and technical base has a positive effect on studying process.

Eugene Duben’ also noticed that “buildings № 2 and № 4 were equipped with fire warning systems with the transmission to the dispatching office of MES of Zavodskoj District, thereby ensuring the fire safety of cadets and teachers in these buildings”.

Walking down the street, we notice that construction and installation work is still going on. We're talking about one of the most important facilities, a catering facility. Work on the reconstruction of the canteen has already got tangible results.

Let's move on to the hostels. At the hostel №2 were repaired the following floors: 6, 8 and 9, the kitchens and corridors, and replaced the entryway. Now the hostel looks more presentable, it has become more comfortable and warmer, and its soundproofing has been improved. At the same time, the chief engineer reminded that in 2019 the Academy implemented a large-scale project to overhaul and modernization of the hostel No. 1.

If we talk about the sports base - modern sports equipment for flat areas has been purchased. By the way, the pavement is covered with synthetic rubber-crumb coating. The soccer field has been improved, the lawn has been prepared, new stands for visitors have been placed, and some of them are equipped with canopies in case of rain.

"All of this the cadets will be able to use already in 2021, when it gets a little warmer," notes Eugene Duben’ with a smile.

And a peculiar cherry on the top of this visit became the airfield. Under the sensitive guidance of Maria Zavaley (Director of the Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining) the asphalt marking was renewed on its territory, which certainly gave it a fresher look.

From what we’ve seen and said we can conclude that major repairs and construction on the territory of Belarusian State Academy of Aviation over the past year have been full-scale.

Plans for the current year have already been approved. So there is a lot of work ahead, the results of which should impress!
