On November 25, 2021 there was a meeting of BSAA workers with Dmitry Shymanovich, the head of the Zavodsky District Department of the Social Security Fund.
According to the Decree 367 "About voluntary insurance of additional funded pension" an additional type of pension insurance - voluntary insurance of additional funded pension with the financial support of the state - will be introduced in the Republic of Belarus since October the 1st, 2022.
Dmitry Shymanovich told the BSAA staff about the voluntary pension insurance programs. Today two insurance organizations offer such pension programs in the republic:
- republican unitary insurance enterprise "Stravita";
- insurance company with limited liability "PriorLife".
The employer or the employee himself enters into a contract with the insurance organization and begins to pay additional contributions. When the employee reaches retirement age, an additional pension is paid out of the accumulated contributions and the income from their investment. If a person decides to receive insurance benefits not as a lump sum, but over a certain period (i.e. as an additional pension), this pension can be received for life or optionally for 3, 5, 10 or 15 years.
